Top 10 Private Hospitals in Dubai

Top 10 Private Hospitals in Dubai by Area: A Neighborhood Guide

Dubai is a large city, and at rush hour the drive from one side to the other can take well over an hour. For most patients, a hospital that looks strong on paper but is difficult to reach is less useful than a well-regarded hospital close to home. This guide organises Dubai’s ten highest-ranked private hospitals by neighbourhood, so you can see what is available near where you live and work.

Which hospitals are included?

The “top 10” here are the ten highest-placed private hospitals in Dubai in Newsweek and Statista’s World’s Best Hospitals 2026 ranking for the UAE. Each hospital’s national rank is shown in brackets. Government hospitals are not included. Where a neighbourhood has no hospital in the top ten, nearby private options with 24-hour emergency departments are mentioned separately and clearly marked as outside the ranking.

Bur Dubai, Oud Metha and Dubai Healthcare City

This central cluster has the highest concentration of ranked hospitals.

American Hospital Dubai (2nd) is in Oud Metha. Mediclinic City Hospital (6th) is in Dubai Healthcare City, a short distance away.

Aster Hospital, Mankhool (4th) is in Bur Dubai and serves residents of Al Raffa, Al Karama, Oud Metha, Umm Hurair and Al Jafiliya. It is operated by Aster Hospitals, a Dubai hospital group, and has a 24-hour emergency department, five intensive care units and a cardiac catheterisation lab.

For residents of central Dubai, the practical difference between these hospitals is often travel time and insurance network rather than ranking.

Al Qusais, Al Nahda and Muhaisnah

North-east Dubai has three ranked hospitals within a few kilometres of each other.

Aster Hospital, Al Qusais (10th) is a 150-bed multispeciality hospital in Al Qusais Industrial Area 2, about two kilometres from Al Qusais Metro Station. It has a 10-bed 24-hour emergency department, a separate urgent care clinic, and a cardiac catheterisation lab; its cardiology department includes interventional cardiologists and an advanced heart clinic. Zulekha Hospital Dubai (12th) is also in Al Qusais. NMC Speciality Hospital – Al Nahda (17th) serves Al Nahda and the surrounding area.

Outside the ranking, Aster Hospital Muhaisnah is another option for Muhaisnah residents.

Al Barsha and Al Barsha South

West of Sheikh Zayed Road, three ranked hospitals serve Al Barsha, Tecom, Arjan and neighbouring communities.

Al Zahra Hospital Dubai (5th) and Saudi German Hospital Dubai (11th) are both in Al Barsha. Mediclinic Parkview Hospital (16th) is in Al Barsha South.

Dubai Hills

King’s College Hospital London’s Dubai hospital (8th) is in Dubai Hills and serves the growing communities around Al Khail Road.

Jebel Ali, Dubai South and the Marina side

None of the ten highest-ranked private hospitals is in Jebel Ali or Dubai South, which matters for the many people who live and work there.

Outside the ranking, Aster Cedars Hospital & Clinic, Jebel Ali, is about 500 metres from the Jebel Ali Free Zone main gate. It runs a 24-hour emergency department and pharmacy and serves Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Jebel Ali Village and Dubai Investment Park. Residents of Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lake Towers may weigh this kind of local option against the Al Barsha cluster, depending on traffic.

How to choose a hospital near you

Start with emergencies. Identify the closest hospital with a 24-hour emergency department to your home, your workplace and your children’s school. In a genuine emergency, call 998; the ambulance crew will take the patient to the nearest suitable hospital.

Check your insurance network. Dubai health insurance is mandatory, but networks vary widely. Confirm that your plan covers both the hospital and the specialists you are likely to need.

Match the speciality to the need. A hospital that suits routine family care may not offer the specialist service a complex condition requires. For heart care, for example, ask whether the hospital has a cardiac catheterisation lab available around the clock.

If you have a long-term health condition, it may be easier to receive care at one hospital where your specialists can access the same medical records. This can be more useful than travelling farther for a hospital with a slightly higher ranking.

A note on rankings

Newsweek’s assessments of Dubai hospitals rely on national-level data, because regional quality and patient satisfaction data were not available, and hospitals a few places apart may differ only slightly. Use the ranking to build a shortlist, then decide on access, insurance and speciality.
